Residential Centre
We provide a safe loving haven for vulnerable children, for short and long term care.
After renting houses for four years, in July 2010 we were able to purchase and move into our very own beautiful residential centre.
We work closely with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, only accepting children into residential care if there is no family/foster care alternative.
We work hard at reunifying children with families, and strengthening family relationships, with a view to future repatriation if possible.
We are purposely small, taking a maximum of 24 children, and they live as part of the local community rather than being separated and institutionalised. Our residential home is safe, and provides an environment of peace where hurts can be healed, and hope for a future can be nurtured. Our children arrive emotionally, spiritually, and sometime physically, bruised. But with love we see changes quickly.
The atmosphere at SWTz is joyful and peaceful, and our children thrive in the SWTz family atmosphere.
We ensure every child within our care has access to good education and health care. To supplement their education, and to provide a creative outlet, we have musical instruments (keyboard, guitar, drums…) and lots of arts and crafts opportunities!
